Riverslie

At Riverslie, we offer a comfortable and friendly home for people over the age of 65 who require additional support or nursing care.

Riverslie is an elegant property, which has been suitably adapted to provide modern-day care facilities. The house is situated in the Seaforth area of Liverpool, close to the docks.

We believe we offer a friendly and comfortable home, whilst providing the highest standards of facilities and equipment.

We are registered with The Care Quality Commission to provide accommodation for persons over the age of 65 who require nursing or personal care, and who may have a diagnosis of dementia or a learning disability.

What we offer

  • We have a spacious lounge and dining room and a large attractive enclosed garden. All rooms are decorated to a high standard and each has a distinctive and personalised character offering single or shared accommodation.
  • People are welcome to bring personal items of furniture into the house. All the rooms, however, are fully furnished and most have en-suite facilities. Specialist baths or showers are available. A resident-call system is fitted in all rooms. These facilities assure the best in comfort, care and security.
  • We have regular visits to the home by our long-standing chiropodist who provides private treatment. We can book visits by a domiciliary physiotherapist and, of course, arrange hospital treatment if needed.
  • Weekly exercise classes are held and in house entertainments are regularly organised as are outings to concerts and places of interest
  • We offer a full range of freshly prepared meals. People’s requirements for special diets or needs are easily catered for.

Our Aims and Objectives

We aim to create a friendly Home with a family atmosphere and to preserve the quality of life of people who use the service.

Therefore:

  • We will carry out assessments of need that will be used to develop individual care plans with the objective of meeting the aims of the Home for each person.
  • We will provide equipment and competent staff to enable the aims and objectives to become a reality for each person.
  • We will deliver care sensitively and flexibly which reflects’ individual needs and choices of each person.
  • We will respect and retain privacy, dignity and independence, as far as possible, irrespective of the person's physical or mental infirmity.
  • We will consult as fully as possible, with people, relatives and other involved persons in order to ensure that the stated aims and objectives are maintained.
  • We will ensure staff are trained to provide care and support to ensure the best quality of life for the people using our service.

Our philosophy

Our philosophy is based upon a belief that all the people who use our service have the right to be treated as individuals. Whilst we require staff to work within basic guidelines and routines this must not institutionalise care. This will be monitored at regular intervals, in full consultation with all people, relatives, staff and visiting professionals.

The specialist needs of residents will be met by our staff that are knowledgeable and sensitive to their needs. The main tenant of care for people is the maintenance of dignity, orientation in time and place, safe management of aggression and challenging behaviour and the maintenance and retrieval of skills pertaining to activities of daily living and communication. This is achieved by stimulation, interaction and a supportive environment for both residents and staff.
